Our personal computers are wonderful devices that help us do our work,
entertain us, inform us. Mostly, we control them. Sometimes they seem to try
to control us, or perform randomly, or provide unintelligible information.
We can take back control.



This mini-lecture will introduce you to how to find out what's going on
inside your computer and some of the things you can do about it. You'll
learn about the software that starts up automatically, how to monitor the
invisible insides, how to disable the unneeded bits. You'll find out about
some of the free software that will help you not only manage your computer,
but protect it from intrusion and make it more secure and more efficient..



Arnold Rosner is vice president and one of the founders of Strand Management
Solutions, Inc. Established in 1979, Strand is a provider of custom

1967. He launched the Access-for-Business division of Strand three years
