This months Meeting:

*This year, we're going to try a new meeting format, starting with the
January meeting.
So - for January, we're going to be hosting a "moderated meeting" with a
theme to be explored, dynamically and interactively by the membership. This
months' moderated meeting topic will be:

"Email clients and Servers"

We will explore the topic of E-mail on both the client and server sides,
introduce commonly used applications, review standard email protocols and
conventions as well as exploring the vast array of options for email users
today in the Linux/FOSS arena.

The topic will be hosted by the LUG/IP board panel and notes and research
will take place live on the screen with the projector for all to see and
learn with. After the meeting the meeting notes will be published to the
mailing list for further study by the membership.

We hope this new format provides a more interactive and enjoyable experience
for our members and we're looking forward to doing more of these in the
future with different themes and topics.

If you have a suggestion for a moderated meeting theme/topic, please email
me of any of the officers at any time and we'll put your ideas in the cookie
jar for future meetings.
*

General Linux and OSS Discussion.

(Discussion carried over to a local establishment after the meeting - lately
we've been hitting the Lawrence Grill in the Quaker-bridge Mall on Rt. #1
North after the meeting and it seems to be working out for everyone.)
