[lugip] LOPSA-NJ was great last night - thanks for coming out!

The LOPSA-NJ meeting last night was really interesting, and my thanks to
everyone for coming out and actively participating in the aftermath
discussion on what was, truthfully, a serious horror show of an emergency
repair project.

To those of you who expressed interest in the punchline of my horror story,
I did get a bit of an update from the professor who owns the machine this
morning. Although the Ubuntu 9.04 environment has been stable and up since
early June, apparently the chemical modelling software (Desmond) license the
lab had purchased expired in July, so the intended application is not
running. A new license purchase is under discussion, and other freeware
modelling tools are in place/in use. Should you wish to discuss this project
with myself or with the bedraggled academic who owns the machine, please
feel free to email pamela at esotericresources.org.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of you at LISA-LOPSA meeting in November,
and the rest of you in December!

---Pam
