*Speaker*: *Douglas Dixon, Manifest Technology*
Internet everywhere! Wireless everything! Yes, it's time for local “gadget
guru” Douglas Dixon
of Manifest Technology to present his annual roundup of tech trends and
toys. This holiday
season we'll be tracking developments including:
- Portability battles functionality, as portable gadgets get more
powerful, and your smartphone
delivers PC-like broadband connectivity and access to your files.
Netbooks challenge laptops t
o keep you connected and working for less money and less weight.
- The set-top challenges the desktop, as PCs do video, TVs do
Internet, Blu-ray discs update
online, and game consoles become home multimedia hubs.
- Simplicity battles sophistication, with consumers buying both pocket
and HD camcorders,
shooting with camera phones and DSLRs, clicking online clips and
syncing to portable players,
posting to YouTube and editing video productions.
Discover the hot gadgets and gear to put on your gift list (and
personal wish list!), from big-
screen TVs to tiny media players, HD cameras to mini wireless
accessories. We'll demo lots
of snazzy devices in this fun talk that will help you keep up with the
latest trends.
